The thought of what happens next after your child leaves school can be a huge worry for parents & especially for teenagers with SEND.
Parents of SEND children often dread the Post-16 "cliff edge" where support drops off. However here at ‘Goalden Football Academy’ we aim to support the whole child – both their physical & mental health now and their future prospects later, providing reassurance & peace of mind for families.
Friday Nights 'While You Wait'
Instead of just waiting in the car or on the sidelines, Emma will be inviting parents & carers for a coffee inside the new ‘Community Room’ for a regular series of Presentations held by our Post-16 Education & Workplace Partners.

Your Chance to Both Unwind
At the end of a busy week, your child will be having fun training outside with their friends & coaches, while you’re grabbing a drink and having direct access to invaluable stress-free Post-16 resources & support inside with Emma.
A Supportive Community
Connect with other parents facing the exact same transitions, sharing experiences and advice in a relaxed environment over a coffee.
No "Cliff Edge"
We also ensure that turning 16 doesn't mean the end of their football or social journey either. We actively guide them into coaching badges, volunteering or adult disability football in the following ways:
- Support with Qualifications: Emma will be offering some of our 15 & 16 year old players the chance to sit with her inside the new ‘Community Room’ & complete online FA Coaching Certificates as part of our Junior Coaches Training Programme.
- Supported Volunteering: We aim to provide volunteering opportunities within the academy (e.g. helping coach the younger players, writing Session Plans, admin & equipment management etc) to build CVs and work readiness.
- Adult Disability Football: Having graduated from our Academy after year 11, we then offer an exciting pathway into local adult disability football with our partners at Eastbourne Borough FC so they never have to stop playing.
