- Excellent results achieved with youth teams at some of the best elite facilities & tournaments in Europe, incl. Chelsea, Ajax, Newcastle Utd, Feyenoord & Southampton to name a few.
- 12 years experience of working with SEND students in secondary schools, helping to remove their barriers to learning in order that they achieve their full potential.
- 6 years experience as a private GCSE maths tutor, mostly with SEND students. 94% pass rate to date.
- Multi award winning 25 year career in Banking, Finance & Marketing incl. as Area Director, NatWest/RBS Group – East Sussex.
Emma Brown
Head of Post-16 Programme
- 15 years experience of SEND teaching in secondary schools across Kent & Sussex.
- Vast expertise in understanding educational pathways, workplace opportunities, EHCPs and the specific challenges of the Post-16 transition.
- French & German Teacher for 12 years.
- Head of MFL for 5 years.
- 6 years experience in supporting Post-16 students in Sixth Form.
- Lived & worked in Germany for 10 years.
- 12 years experience in creating and running a multi award winning disability football Education Programme at Eastbourne Borough FC.
In the 12 years since Emma and I set up our multi award winning disability football programme in Eastbourne, over a hundred children & young adults with special needs in the Eastbourne area have taken part in both fun & competitive sport, with many of them earning references from us in order to gain local employment.
In addition we have worked in SEND teaching at local secondary schools over the same period. It is a sad fact that there are too few football opportunities for the disabled in Sussex, with many youngsters having never experienced the excitement and benefits of regular sport, and the social interaction it brings.
Quite apart from what happens on the pitch, we have always dreamt of running our own Disability Football Academy that also supports the future dreams of our local SEND children. It is appalling that only 6% of young adults with learning disabilities are in paid employment in the UK – our unique offering aims to help tackle this issue.
